About Smoky Mountain Photography by Smoky Moments

Gordon Brugman has been a professional photographer for over 30 years, including several years as a photojournalist where several of his images received exposure by the national wire services. He has taught photography, served as President of the Smoky Mountain Association of Photographers and is honored to have been designated a Special Contributor to the TodaysPhoto.org website. With the creation of Smoky Moments he hopes to share the love of the Great Smoky Mountains natural beauty that draws him and his wife, Jan, to the mountains at every available opportunity.

Jan Brugman, the daughter of photographer Elverne McClory, has inherited her fathers photographic talent.  While Gordon taught her much about the technical aspects of photography and the equipment they use, Jans natural eye for composition brings a unique viewpoint to her images.

The Brugmans live outside Gatlinburg, Tennessee, and focus primarily on images of the Great Smoky Mountains and the southeastern region, as well as creative imagery using Photoshop, HDR, Orton and Out Of Bounds (OOB) techniques.

Working as Unity Creative Productions, they have also provided audio services to Smokies-based musicians New Rain, the eclectic acoustic duo of Gary and Jane Morris, and Boogertown Gap, the marvelous Old Time Music duo of Ruth Barber and Keith Watson.
